The most difficult quarter yet for a multitude of reasons. I know that Dad B would be proud! ='0) It was a miracle that I still pulled above 3.5 in my classes, even after missing 2 1/2 weeks of school. Such a blessing!

Spring 10, my last quarter and I'll be a graduate of EWU!! I can't believe it! My kids have been amazing and grown so much over the last two years. I truly hope we can stay and continue on in the master's program here, if only to linger in Cheney a bit longer.

♥♥♥♥
Tasha + KiddosTashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17150186470341979657noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585743751643684613.post-80283508047985108972010-02-18T08:51:00.000-08:002010-07-15T20:15:29.366-07:00dad....Many of you have heard that my stepfather (since I was 4) was killed in a car accident Monday February 15, 2010 at about 5:30pm. Dad had come to visit us for the weekend in Cheney. He had just left our house about 5:00pm. Multiple news stations that covered the accident on the radio, TV and internet. (read here) The shock and tragedy of his passing has been acute in every possible way. We love him and miss him so much.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for our family, extended family and especially for the grandchildren.
Below are some of the pictures I've taken over the last two days. Some are difficult to see. My hope is that for those who need to see, they have that opportunity. Certainly a challenge to say the least. It has also inspired me in a few new areas and I'm excited to grow in uncharted directions this year, while continuing to grow in many familiar paths as well.

Grace and June are just as fun as can be. They adore their kindergarten teacher and their speech/learning teachers too! We're working on losing more teeth. I'm sure the top two will be out before we know it! They enjoy playing pretend, making up stories and songs, and drawing pictures for their stories. They love going to church and primary. Both girls are wonderful big sisters to each other and their little brother. June is coming into her own and Grace is easing up a little. They are two of a kind!!

Peter is realizing more and more how powerful talking can be. He discovered a while ago that changing the volume and tone in his voice gets mommy's attention really quick! He is Mr. Helpful all the time around the house, thoughtful and sweet. His laugh is boisterous and infectious. He is becoming more daring and creative in his play.

I'm so happy and so grateful to be in this stage of our lives. SO MUCH GROWTH and development for all of us on so many levels. The Lord has truly kept us in His best care and we love Him with all of our hearts!

Chat with ya'll sooner than later....

xoxo
Tasha + KiddosTashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17150186470341979657noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585743751643684613.post-35751650404532402862009-06-18T21:49:00.000-07:002009-06-18T21:50:36.683-07:00Brian Regan --- ME MONSTERI'm going to see this comedian with a friend at the end of the month...

SO EXCITED!!!

Check him out...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVn22gBol_oTashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17150186470341979657noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585743751643684613.post-8753983045979942602009-06-12T10:05:00.000-07:002009-06-12T10:16:50.370-07:002009 Graduation
It's official -- Grace and June are onto kindergarten and have 'graduated' from preschool. It was an over-the-top and fun celebration last night that the EWU Children's Center put on for the kids: slideshow, performances, speeches, diploma ceremony, going away gifts for the kids, catering by Longhorn BBQ and cake! WOW....amazing and momentous for most five year olds.

Yesterday was a celebration for me as well--spending most of my day at the temple after turning in my final assignments of Spring semester. Definitely a great day for the Hansen Crew...little Peter included! He has adjusted and is thriving to his role at the Children's Center and as the only boy in our household---a true pioneer in his own right! =0) GO PETER!!

It's been an amazing year of growth and we look forward with joyous anticipation and excitement for it to continue.

May our great love for you be felt always and may the Lord bless you abundantly each day!

Enjoy~

Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17150186470341979657noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585743751643684613.post-28349885170506455112009-05-13T19:59:00.000-07:002009-05-13T20:10:41.687-07:00Good News...I just got accepted to my BASW internship for the 2009-2010 school year....

At the Spokane Fire Department!!!

Here's the link to the overarching goals of the program http://www.spokanefire.org/departments/cares/

It's in the Regional Public Safety Campus, which is a huge area of
massive buildings for training and drilling of any and all emergency
response personnel.

Super excited!!Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17150186470341979657noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585743751643684613.post-54648717959695545602009-05-09T20:02:00.000-07:002009-05-09T20:53:17.289-07:00Mother's Day...We just had an amazing day today that I count as one of the best, if not THE best Mother's Day ever!

First we had a great breakfast and had a nice laid back morning. Put the little ones down for an early quick-nap and then got up and got ready for the rest of our day.

We went to a Pow-Wow here in Cheney. Here's a similar video clip of what is was like today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3s9z3IOpH1g It was so neat! We didn't stay for the entire thing as it went from 11am to 11pm, but we were there for nearly two hours watching the dress, dancing and listening to the live music. Even little ones as young as three were dressed up and danced. http://www.ur.umich.edu/0708/Apr14_08/img/080414_PowWow-08(011).jpg The girls brought some of their savings with them and bought beautiful silver necklaces with matching bracelets, each with a different horse medallion. We walked there and back as it was on campus, so the whole thing was almost three hours of our day.

We came home, regrouped and then went out to dinner. There's an excellent Mexican restaurant here in town that I just love, so we went there and split a large meal together; complete with shirley temples, a virgin strawberry margarita and carmel flan. YUM!!

Then on the way home we decided to go on another 'adventure'. That's what we call them, when we spontaneously make a turn down a road we haven't been down before. We passed amazing countryside, horses and ranches. We found a lake with playground, fishing, swimming and a nice bike trail that loops around and back to Cheney! What a find!! We're so excited to go back there this summer with our bikes and fishing poles!

We just got home and the sun has just set on the most perfect Mother's Day for me. A day that I throw everything else out the window and just enjoy my number one desire in life---to play with and love my kids for an entire day! We made such great memories today and perhaps even have started a new tradition for Mother's Day....

May each and every one of you mothers out there experience the sweet joy and peace of motherhood this weekend!

We love and miss you all---and are always aware and ever grateful for the endless support that has strengthened and fortified our family to be where we are today...take comfort in knowing you have empowered us to enjoy such a day as today...

Tasha - Grace - June - PeterTashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17150186470341979657noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585743751643684613.post-84309689605925493952009-04-16T21:36:00.000-07:002009-04-16T21:43:40.018-07:00Better late than never....?Well, I need to find a new way to keep up on this blog thing. Well, and of course, our family and friends...and financial aide, oh and food stamps! AND...

You get the point...

I have 19 credits again this quarter, including my institute class. Spring will be my last huge semester like that with about 18 credits and then it should taper down a bit---ya know like 15-16. =0) I'm still shocked to realize that I'm a full time college student and that I will be for the next 3 years. It blows my mind. Maybe by the time I finish my BSW I'll be used to it.

Life is still A-MAZING for us. We are so happy, so blessed and so grateful.

So just a couple quick quirks that my children are so good at coming up with. Peter, bless his darling heart, LOVES to find various real and pretend phones and talk on them. However, he has trouble connecting the phone to his ear so he can listen. He simply dials the number and then reaches over his big noggin and lines the phone up against the back of his neck---SO FUNNY---he just chats away. It looks like he's trying to scratch his back with the phone!

Grace came up to me frantically tonight saying over and over..."Mama, I forgot! I forgot!" and gesturing dramatically with her hands, but being very serious at the same time. "What did you forget, Grace?" and then she explains very calmly, "Mama, I forgot my cookie." Of course! What cookie would that be Grace, since we don't have any----you silly sneaky sweetheart! We then discussed the difference between "wanting" and "forgetting". SO CUTE!

June has decided that it is no longer enough to simply tell Peter to not touch the TV buttons, or to simply fix the station or repush the power button or turn down the volume. She has introduced Peter to her backside. She watches for Peter to come into the living room, then as she says "no, no, no, no, no---" she runs over to him and stands between him and the TV. Peter, being the conniving young man that he desperately attempts to be, laughs hysterically and thinks June's invented a brilliant new game. Poor Peter, just pushes with his huge noggin against June's back, as her full attention is locked in tunnel vision and completely unresponsive to Peter's infectious collapsing giggles. It's SO funny to watch both of them.

Anyway---there's a few fun tid bits of the tator tots in Cheney. I made the Dean's List (>3.5)!! My overall GPA, including my previous degree, is 3.6 (101 credits). I hope I can just keep the grades steady as I still have a ways to go.

Anyway, just thought I'd share the good news with everyone. It was a great semester and we're hoping for another one Winter 2009 with another 17 credits. We just keep praying for health, strength and safety.

Love to all!Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17150186470341979657noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585743751643684613.post-82251608693502076642008-12-13T10:33:00.000-08:002008-12-13T10:40:51.110-08:00SNOW!!!

We are having SO much fun in the snow! There were a few mishaps, but what holiday doesn't come with a few of those anyhow? Here are just a few snapshots of our fun over there.

Wouldn't you know it, once again, I enjoyed the family SO much I didn't take any shots of the dinner or the rest of the family on Thanksgiving Day! I hate that...but...I guess it's okay--sweet memories of family can be taken anywhere! I just keep telling myself that!

I also included our gingerbread house finale--the girls decorated the whole thing--pretty dang cute!Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17150186470341979657noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585743751643684613.post-46101432606302104422008-11-16T22:43:00.000-08:002008-11-17T09:09:02.105-08:00Ezra Taft Benson's Political Prophecies and InvitationsI have had many interesting conversations since my last post about Obama.

The only thing I will say is this, I believe in our heart of hearts, each of us is trying to do the best we can with what we know and understand, what we value and how we rank those values when it comes to our political arena in the US. Politics is ugly, compromising, frustrating and exhausting at best. However, it is a necessary game in government. Although, there never seems to be "the one" out there that hits a home run on my radar personally. Ron Paul did come close--I wish that he had had more support.

My own opinion is that no matter what President is in office, we will not really and truly know what kind of President s/he will be for at least a year or two, maybe three. I have no expectations for the future except one...

The Second Coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will likely be in my lifetime.

I want to be ready, with my lamp trimmed and my oil in hand, my stance alert and my eyes wide in anticipation. There is only one thing that will stand in my way at the end of the day, it will be myself; procrastination in repentance and preparation for the bridegroom. It is the same for every single one of us. Sooner than later is better than never.

Upon further reflection of government & politics in general, I found some additional videos on youtube.com of President Benson's remarks and prophecies regarding our government system, its current standing in the 70's and future warnings.

This particular video is amazing...though there are many others...

Please take the time to watch, reflect and ponder his words of power and promise.
Though it has obvious support for notable Presidential Contestant Ron Paul, it is critical to understand our prophets, past and present, stance on policy and government.

As I stated in my previous post, may our President(s) preserve the divinely inspired Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights, and may we all choose righteousness for all over evil for a few. I pray that the years of plenty that President Hinckley foretold over 7 years ago are not lost to this land and its people until the Millennium, but may it be according to the Lord's will and may we all be ready to rise to our positions in His Royal Army each and every day--building up His perfect Kingdom here on Earth to welcome Him.

(here's the link in case the post doesn't work)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMpPPN_ILEo&feature=related

Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17150186470341979657noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585743751643684613.post-75950479344035309682008-10-30T14:11:00.000-07:002008-10-30T14:15:33.225-07:00Halloween Warm-Up

The girls got to wear costumes today to preschool. And of course as most people know with kids, there are few that really turn out well---where everyone is actually looking at the camera AND smiling a REAL smile, including the parent(s) as we try to help coax the kids.

So, we had only one that was pretty cute out of 10 shots and wouldn't you know it...blurry. That's Murphy's Law for ya! So we'll probably go out again this next week to try again. I think I will arm whoever the lucky photographer is with lollipops--that will get their attention!

Anyway, here's the best shot...enjoy!Tashahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17150186470341979657noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7585743751643684613.post-52338175023476188402008-10-06T18:13:00.000-07:002008-10-06T18:15:20.218-07:00PETER WALKED TODAY!!!He actually did it today!
